Misschien vind je het woord \u2018discriminatie\u2019 wel te sterk, want dat is toch wel een ernstige beschuldiging. Dikke mensen maken <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4853419\/%20\">minder kans dan slanke mensen om aangenomen te worden<\/a><\/span> voor een job. Dokters <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1111\/obr.12266%20\">negeren onze symptomen<\/a><\/span> en schrijven alleen maar een dieet voor. Of ze ervaren langdurige chronische stress, wat op zijn beurt dan weer de kans verhoogt op o.a. hoge bloeddruk en diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.9&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;16px&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;1.8em&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Maar die negatieve gevolgen worden nooit breed uitgesmeerd in de media. Integendeel, de enige boodschap die continu herhaald wordt, is dat al je problemen opgelost geraken als je maar afvalt. Nee, dan moeten we ervoor zorgen dat het pesten stopt. Maar voor dikke mensen geldt dat niet. We geloven als maatschappij dat dik zijn het probleem is en op dieet gaan de oplossing, omdat ons leven pas \u00e9cht kan beginnen als we dun zijn.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.9&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;16px&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;1.8em&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>En dus zetten we ons leven on hold: pas als we ons ideale gewicht bereikt hebben, mogen we een leven leiden waarin we het verdienen om te genieten en niet gediscrimineerd te worden. Tot dan vinden we het normaal dat dikke mensen nageroepen worden op straat, dat we omschreven worden als een \u2018epidemie\u2019 en dat we gediscrimineerd worden in onze maatschappij.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.9&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;16px&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;1.8em&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;||75px||false|false&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Maar dat is niet normaal. Of komt er op een familiefeest altijd iemand vertellen over een nieuw dieet dat je eens moet proberen?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vergeet dit nooit: jouw lichaam is niet het probleem; hoe de maatschappij denkt over dikke lichamen, d\u00e1t is het probleem. Dus als er nog eens iemand een opmerking maakt of je aanspreekt, dan zegt dat meer over hen en niets over jou.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>En dat betekent niet dat het ineens gemakkelijker wordt om daarmee om te gaan, maar probeer jezelf zo te trainen dat je in zo\u2019n situatie altijd onmiddellijk denkt: mijn lichaam is geen probleem dat opgelost moet worden!<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column_inner][\/et_pb_row_inner][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_3&#8243;
