Oprah is mee op de kar van Weight Watchers gesprongen en deelt ons in reclamefilmpjes mee dat je slank moet zijn om succesvol te zijn. Dat vind ik enorm teleurstellend en het is niet de empowerment die ik van haar verwachtte.<\/p>\n

Je weet misschien dat Oprah aandelen heeft in Weight Watchers.<\/strong> Een bloeiende samenwerking waar natuurlijk ook de nodige marketingcampagne bijhoort. Laatst zag ik een van haar reclamefilmpjes voorbijkomen en de eerste zin die Oprah daarin zegt, is:<\/p>\n

Ten eerste is dit helemaal niet waar, want er zijn genoeg dikke vrouwen die gelukkig zijn met zichzelf en hun lichaam.\u00a0<\/span>Dus nee, Oprah, ik apprecieer het niet dat jij denkt te kunnen spreken voor elke dikke vrouw.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kijk, Oprah doet in haar priv\u00e9leven wat ze wil. Daar heb ik geen zaken mee.\u00a0Maar met dit reclamefilmpje bereikt ze miljoenen mensen en haar boodschap is echt niet zo positief.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Want bekijk het eens zo: Oprah heeft een supersuccesvolle talkshow, ze doet ongelofelijk belangrijk liefdadigheidswerk, ze heeft diploma\u2019s van verschillende universiteiten, ze heeft de Medal of Freedom gekregen van president Obama en ze wordt soms de meest invloedrijke vrouw in de wereld genoemd. En dan zegt zij dat ze nog niet de persoon is die ze kan zijn, enkel omdat ze overgewicht heeft?<\/p>\n

Je weet misschien dat Oprah aandelen heeft gekocht in de WW. Groot succes (voor beide partijen) en de next step in hun samenwerking is de lancering van reclamefilmpjes.<\/p>

Nu ik in de VS woon, zie ik deze reclame ook live, maar telkens wanneer ik haar gezicht op het scherm zie verschijnen, druk ik op de mute-knop, want ik wil het gewoon niet horen.<\/p>

Maar ik zag er zoveel artikelen over voorbij komen, dat ik toch maar eens op YouTube ben gaan kijken. (Wat ik allemaal niet doe voor Dik Gelukkig :-) )<\/p>

En dit is de eerste zin die ze in het filmpje zegt:<\/p>
