Dat is soms een reactie wanneer iemand uitlegt dat dikke mensen opmerkingen krijgen en zelfs gediscrimineerd worden in onze maatschappij. <strong>\u201cSpeel niet het slachtoffer en d\u00f3\u00e9 er iets aan,\u201d is dan de opmerking.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nu, \u2018het slachtoffer spelen\u2019 is sowieso al een problematische uitspraak. Dikke mensen worden nu eenmaal gediscrimineerd, dus we <em>zijn<\/em> het slachtoffer. Daar is niks gespeeld aan.<\/p>\n<p>Maar als we dan niks over discriminatie zeggen en gewoon dik zijn zonder schaamte en zonder verontschuldiging, dan zijn we \u2018obesitas\u2019 aan het promoten.<\/p>\n<p>Het is dus nooit goed.<\/p>\n<p>En daardoor weet ik dat het niet gaat over discriminatie zelf. Voor sommige mensen is de oplossing namelijk dat we afvallen.<strong> \u2018Doe er iets aan\u2019 betekent voor hen niet dat we vechten voor meer gelijkheid en gelijkwaardigheid, maar dat we afvallen en stoppen met zagen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Maar dat is uiteraard de verkeerde oplossing. Zal ik het nog eens herhalen? \u2026 Wanneer dikke mensen gediscrimineerd worden in onze maatschappij is de oplossing niet dat dikke mensen moeten afvallen, maar dat de discriminatie moet stoppen.<\/p>\n<p>En als mensen vinden dat ik het slachtoffer speel omdat ik zoiets verkondig, dan heb ik daar geen problemen mee. Als dat ervoor zorgt dat ik dikke mensen kan helpen om zich beter te voelen in onze maatschappij, dan neem ik die slachtoffer-rol graag op me.<\/p>\n<p>Mijn punt is, denk ik \ud83d\ude42 , dat je je vooral niets moet aantrekken van wat andere mensen denken en zeggen.
