Het hele gezondheids-gebeuren vond (en vind) ik het moeilijkste in mijn eigen weg naar <em>fat liberation<\/em>. We worden continu bang gemaakt voor de gevaren van dik zijn en dat stemmetje blijft altijd ergens in mijn hoofd ronddwalen.<\/p>\n<p>Ik heb zelf bijvoorbeeld slaapapneu. <strong>En het zou kunnen dat mijn apneu verbetert als ik afval, want toen ik minder woog dan nu, had ik geen apneu.<\/strong> En ik heb me daar lang slecht over gevoeld. Ik voelde me schuldig, had het gevoel dat ik het mezelf aangedaan had.<\/p>\n<p>Maar afvallen om mijn slaapapneu te verbeteren is geen optie voor mij. Zelfs als ik op dieet zou gaan en mijn apneu zou verminderen of verdwijnen, wat krijg ik er dan voor in de plaats? Een verstoorde relatie met eten, stress en nog meer ge\u00efnternaliseerde vetfobie. Dat is dus helemaal geen oplossing.<\/p>\n<p>Wat w\u00e9l een oplossing is, is een cpap-machine gebruiken. Daarmee ben ik geholpen zonder dat ik mezelf opnieuw ongelukkig moet maken door te di\u00ebten. Voor mij is die keuze evident.<\/p>\n<p>En ik weet dat het voor iedereen anders is. Sommige mensen merken een verbetering in bepaalde aandoeningen als ze minder wegen en kiezen er daarom voor om af te vallen. Dat is ieder z'n eigen keuze, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dikgelukkig.be\/blog\/afvallen-is-niet-je-enige-keuze-ook-niet-als-het-gaat-om-gezondheid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ook al zijn er soms andere oplossingen<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maar ik wil me nooit meer zo voelen als tijdens de periodes dat ik op dieet stond.<\/strong> Dat heeft me na al die jaren niks goeds opgeleverd op het vlak van welzijn en gezondheid, dus dat doe ik gewoon niet meer.
